Fantasia’s Fetish For Jumpsuits: Yay or Nay?

Despite American Idol declaring Phillip Phillips as the winner  last night, his spotlight was share with a surprising performance from Fantasia Barrino.

Barrino, who won American Idol season three back in 2004, hit the stage on American Idol last night performing with singer Joshua Ledet. However, the surprising wow factor was not her gifted voice or a stellar performance…instead it was her wardrobe.

2012 Billboard Award Show: Best and Worst Dressed List

Welp! The votes are in and the guys have it. The men definitely out-dressed the women this year at the 2012 Billboard Award Show.

Cut-Outs For A Cool, Chic Summer

After viewing an episode of VH1’s Basketball Wives, I immediately fell in love with the cut-out dress worn by Evelyn Lozada.  The next week I tuned in and saw her wearing another cut-out dress. I thought to myself aha! Foreshadowing to an upcoming trend.

A couple weeks later, I was online shopping for a graduation dress. Once again I was reacquainted with the cut-out dress on some of my favorite websites like Boohoo, Motel Rocks and Karmaloop. It took every fashionable nerve in me to not buy one because I knew that would be inappropriate for graduation ceremony, however it inspire me to create a photo set for this summer trend. Although I don’t completely agree with Evelyn’s look in the blue dress (too much skin shown-arms, stomach and legs), I think the maxi dress looks cool and easy with a touch of sexy.
Here are the dresses in the photo set:
Stripe Cut Out Dress, $76
Bodycon dress, $40
Candy Stripe Cut Out Dress by Rare, $165
Two Tone Cut Out Dress, $192
